Orientation Programme - 2023

The Freshers’ Orientation program of the 33rd Batch of BSc Nursing, 29th Batch of PBBSc Nursing, and 7th Batch of NPCC Nursing was organized by 188体育平台 College of Nursing, MAHE, 188体育平台 on 1st August 2023 at the Dr. TMA Pai Hall II, KMC, 188体育平台. The Chief Guest of the program, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, 188体育平台 Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), 188体育平台 addressed the newly joined students and their parents. He gave a brief orientation about MAHE including ample opportunities available for various curricular and extracurricular activities. In his talk, he highlighted that nursing is a unique profession that is dedicated to the healing and welfare of patients. He further suggested incorporating three ingredients such as cognitive, psychomotor, and affective for effective learning. Dr. Judith A Noronha, Dean, MCON 188体育平台 gave a brief introduction to the institution and introduced the faculty members. Orientation to the Nursing Services was given by Dr. P. Suba Sooria, Head-Nursing Services, Kasturba Hospital, 188体育平台. Orientation to student support services offered by MAHE was explained by Dr. Arvind Pandey, Deputy Director, Student Affairs (Health Sciences), MAHE, 188体育平台.

The students and their parents were familiarized with the hostel facilities by Col. Vinod Bhasker, Chief Warden of MAHE Hostels. This was followed by an introduction of teacher guardians to the freshers and their parents. A total of 134 BSc Nursing, 13 PBBSc Nursing, two NPCC Nursing, and their parents attended the programme.
