Nursing 188体育平台 Day - 2020

Nursing research day was organized as one of the activities of 2020 188体育平台 year of the nurse and midwife by Pillar – 2, Exemplary research and innovation, of 188体育平台 College of Nursing (MCON) MAHE 188体育平台 on 25th, September 2020 between 2.00 to 6.00 pm. The programme was organized through MS Teams.

Dr Suresh K Sharma, Principal, AIIMS, Rishikesh addressed on the theme “Contemporary Nursing 188体育平台”. In his speech, he explained the need for rigorously conducted and properly disseminated nursing research in India by the nursing fraternity. He also emphasized that nursing research should be focused on caring related aspects and understanding the caring phenomenon. He necessitated the need for modifying and customizing the tools adopted from other specialities for nursing research. He called upon the nursing fraternity to conduct research which is of importance to the nursing profession.

Dr Judith A Noronha, Associate Dean, MCON, MAHE 188体育平台 welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Dr Jyothi Chakrabarty, Professor & HOD, Medical-Surgical Nursing, MCON, MAHE 188体育平台 moderated the scientific oral presentation. Mrs Yashoda, Assistant Professor, Department of Child Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE 188体育平台 moderated the e-poster presentation.

A total of 125 participants attended the programme. There was a total of 14 scientific oral presentations and five e-poster presentations. Dr Leena Sequira, Principal, 188体育平台 School of Nursing, MAHE 188体育平台; Dr Shejila CH, Professor cum Vice Principal, MIMS College of Nursing, Malappuram, Kerala and Dr Baby S Nayak, Professor and HOD, Department of Child Health Nursing were the judges for the scientific presentation. Winners of oral presentation and e-poster presentation were then announced.

Mrs. Prathiba Kamath, Assistant Professor, Department of OBG Nursing, MCON, MAHE 188体育平台 proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs Shalini G Nayak was the convener of the programme.
